It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their hitters to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy being given a chance to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her bow and seven world titles have come from 10 attempts across formats.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the case for the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts activate and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was underway.

"An opportunity to take the field and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing competing nations at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.
